We are delighted that we have one of THE experts on wild booze joining us for a special walk. Andy Hamilton (www.theotherandyhamilton.com) is a multiple award-winning author, brewer and an expert on wild food and sustainability. He is the author of the best-selling Booze for Free and Brewing Britain: The Quest for the Perfect Pint. He writes for The Guardian and The Daily Telegraph amongst others and frequently appears on TV and Radio talking about foraging and booze. You may have seen him on Autumnwatch, Countryfile, The Alan Titchmarsh Show and more.
When you take a sip of a Martini you could be consuming hundreds of wild plants as both vermouth and gin can be made from any number of plants. Some of these plants can be fairly exotic, others may be growing in your back garden and it is very possible to make your own wild infusions that will taste every bit as amazing as your favourite gin or vermouth.
On Andy's wild booze walks he takes a group of people out and introduces them to the plants that grow at our feet; plants that all have a secret history. You also get to sample a variety of his wild concoctions!
You can hear what one of his Booze walks is like with this Radio 4 Food Programme recording.
Special offer: You can order Andy's Booze for Free, for collection on the walk only, at a special discounted price of £6 - RRP £9.99.
