Hedgerow Harvest offers a range of foraging walks of around 3 hours duration. On these we will walk looking for edible and poisonous species and discuss culinary uses of the edible species. Each walk will also cover equipment, sustainability, legal and safety issues. The walks include sampling opportunities.
Seashore Foraging Walks
The coast is perhaps the most exciting environment that the UK has to offer the forager. The wild food delights awaiting the seaside forager include plants, seaweeds, shellfish and fungi.
Mushrooms / Fungi Walks
These walks are aimed at beginners who want to know more about identifying wild mushrooms / fungi. We will look at the identification of edible and poisonous species and end with sampling our edible finds.
Join wild booze expert and best selling author of "Booze for Free" Andy Hamilton (Countryfile, Autumnwatch etc.) to discover some of the fascinating and tasty alcoholic drinks that can be made using hedgerow ingredients. The walk includes sampling and is for adults only.
